Villa with pool view and walkaround at Koh Ma Beach Resort, Koh Phangan, Thailand. Great resort at the tranquil Mae Haad Beach in the north east of Phangan Island. Very pleased with the views and cleanliness of this stay.
What’s good?
Booked a Deluxe room online but got upgraded to a villa for free on arrival. The villas in this resort look pretty similar to the rooms in the larger buildings, and they are basically two rooms stacked in one building. Anyway I thought this ”villa/room” was great. It felt pretty much brand new, super clean interior, almost like I was guest the first to move in. There are also a row of villas facing the beach and ocean. I really enjoyed the pool view from the balcony, with Koh Ma island and a little bit of sea view in the back. Good semi outdoor shower/wc, big pool, beach massage, beach bar, ATM’s and a Family Mart within walking distance. Didn’t have much to eat at the restaurant so cant really comment on that. This wasn’t exactly cheap place but probably the best value of all the resorts I stayed at on this trip to Phangan. Maybe because it was so fresh but also because of the whole tranquility of the area. Mae Haad beach was lovely, nice at sunset and even better in the morning. If the the tide is low the beach extends with a sandy strip over to Koh Ma island. You can also enter as a guest through the resort, dine at the restaurant at the north side, and walk left to visit Mae Haad Beach. Nearby Three Sixty Bar has a good view over the Mae Haad area.
What could be better?
TV had a browser but it lacked web connection. The entrance gate looked a bit underwhelming, perhaps it wasn’t finished yet. Thought the resort logo was weird, it looked like a Canadian national park logo with a peak and fir-trees, they could’ve been at least have put some palm-trees on the island 🙂🌴.
