Ku at Sea Bed and Breakfast, Koh Samet, Thailand. Nice little clean room in a convenient location, a stones-throw away from the center of Sai Kaew Beach. This place is also called Ku@Sea, or Ku at Sea Bar Bed and Breakfast, because they have a small bar to the right at the beach. I tried the bar as I you get a drink promotion upon check in and it was ok. Overall a good Bed & Breakfast only let down by the shower. Nice to try something different than the usual resorts. Claustrophobic but cute.
What’s good?
Convenient location close to Sai Kaew Beach, 7-eleven, restaurants in different styles, bars and a weird nightclub. The room was very well cleaned. Cosy furnished room that makes you feel at home. Simple breakfast is served at the small coffeeshop called Jump at Sea, at ground floor. TV-set was fairly modern but had no usable smart functions like YouTube. Not the softest bed bud had no trouble sleeping besides some date that tried to go all the way. There was a Santa Clause figure hanging at the door, that’s a huge plus.
What’s not so good?
Price inflated for what it is but this was during Chinese New Year however. The front door is locked so you have to call a dude that checks you in. Smooth check-in but nobody helps you carry your bags up the steep stairs. You should know that the rooms are very small if you have problem with that. No view through the windows. The main window is facing a concrete wall a feet away. A little daylight gets in at least. The shower had the electric heating style which I don’t like at all. Flooding on the floor when you used the basin and some nasty greenish slime on the aircon-tube at the wall was the worst part of the stay. Also, the safety-box was the tiny crappy type, it should be bigger to fit a 15″ laptop.
