Superior Ocean View and walkaround at Amari Residences Pattaya (looks like its called The Legend Residences Pattaya now). Nice place to stay at as usual with Amari. I enjoyed the cleanliness of the room and the relatively calm location of the hotel. This was an ideal hotel for visiting Pattaya Public Park and the south-west beaches of Pattaya.
What was good?
The resort is located on the south side of Pattaya Public Park so it’s a calm area compared to central Pattaya. There is a pool area with a grotto-bar and a small waterslide. Staff was friendly and professional as expected. Room was comfy and clean, just some minor dirt and water by the fridge. Superior Ocean View sounds epicly nice but it was more like a city view with the ocean in the back, at least from the bed. There are probably better views in this building but I still liked it though. The nearest beach is Cosy Beach and it’s about a 5-10 minutes stroll away. The breakfast buffé had everything I wanted and the some, with a view over the pool area and the park. The deli in the lobby has some basic snacks and dishes at descent prices. Hotel gym was well equipped and overlooking the pool as well. There is and Krungsri-ATM inside the hotel area.
What was not so good?
There is not so much restaurants and shops right outside the hotel, but 7-eleven, Family Mart and such, are just a couple blocks away. The beaches of Pattaya are not super close but not that far away either. Parts of this area looks little bit rough, like backstreets or a work in progress. The air-con on the balcony was noisy but it shuts off if you leave the door open. When you arrive you should know that there are two entrances, one for residences straight to the elevator, and one for the hotel lobby, so head to the left door, this can be a little bit confusing. This is a very personal and minor issue but I found the fish decor at the walls in the lobby extremely tacky and misplaced, they should keep it clean and remove those things ?.
