Some flashbacks from Koh Samet Island, Rayong, Thailand. Mermaids is the main theme of this place. My last trip Koh Samet was back in like 2006 and things have changed for shure. Tourism have had a certainly massive impact on the island. But it’s nice to see that the beaches are kept clean. There is an entrance fee to visitors and guards walking the beaches. Perhaps there are a little too much speed boats at the popular beaches. The roads (or the road) have speed-bumps and feels safe, by thai standards at least. The bars close early and overall Koh Samet is pretty calm if you come to relax on your holiday.
