Sea View Villa and Walk-around at Crystal Bay Yacht Club, Koh Samui, Thailand. A basic villa at Silver Beach, one of the smaller but more popular beaches in Koh Samui. Stayed one night here and almost everything was as good (or average) as expected. The best thing about this place was Silver Beach in the morning and evening.

What was good?

Crystal Bay Yacht Club lies at the south end of Silver Beach (Crystal Bay or Haad Thong Ta-Khian). It’s between the popular Lamai Beach and Chaweng Noi Beach / Chaweng Beach on the east coast of Samui. Check-in was quick and the villa was ready in a few minutes. While it’s not really a Sea view, except for the terrace, the villa was just a few steps from the beach, restaurant and pool. Simple interior, not my favorite style but good enough for most travelers I’d say. Certainly clean enough for me. Had a basic lunch in the restaurant and dinner at the sister resort, Crystal Bay Beach Resort, at the north side of the beach, and it was ok. Not much other options for eating except the few resorts at the beach, a Family mart and a few restaurants on the main road. It’s not a very busy area compared to like Chaweng except for the traffic on the main road. Didn’t see any jet-ski’s so that’s a plus as well. The evening and morning was super nice at Silver Beach, very calm and not much people at all.

What was not so good?

The resorts name is confusing, some site wrote that this is a 4-star resort but I would call it at a 3.5-star. Also, I wouldn’t call this particular villa a “Sea View”, I had to zoom in on my phone’s camera to see the sea. It was more like a 90% wall- slash restaurant-view and 10% sea-view. But those other villas as you can see in the video are probably better if you want actual beach front sea view. Silver beach and the Crystal Bay Beach Club Restaurant was really crowded in the daytime. A lot of outside guests used the path (from the parking lot) in front our the villa so not much privacy there. Other villas deeper inside the resort probably has less people passing. Don’t leave any food or spilled drinks as the tiny ants will find it, this isn’t unique for this resort of course, it goes for everywhere you travel i Thailand.
