Walkaround at Cosi Chaweng Beach, Koh Samui, Thailand. Brand new budget hotel i the center of Chaweng. Located behind, or basically inside, the Central Festival Samui shopping mall. Stayed at several different rooms for about two weeks so a bit of a mess of shots walking around the hotel checking out the reception, pool, different rooms, the mall and riding to the nearest beach road with a scooter at the end of the video.
What’s good?
Rooms at the top floors, and some at the bottom, have panoramic windows which is nice. But don’t expect amazing views, most rooms are facing roads, garage or the mall. Rooms are modern, nicely styled and super clean. Flat, smart TV which is missing at many resorts at 10 times this price. Very slow interface for the browser in the TV, but it’s a bit smart though at least. They should add an YouTube app to make it smoother. It’s a great location if you want to stay as central possible, close to food, shopping and nightlife. Lots of good restaurants in the mall and party areas are just 5-10 min walk away. Staff is very nice and polite. Overall fantastic value for what it is, especially if you book without breakfast. Feels safe as well with security staff guarding the mall and the hotel 27/4.
What’s not so good?
Rooms are very small and looks a lot bigger in the photos at the booking sites. The hotel layout is a bit confusing before you get the hang of it. Three buildings with three elevators and you have to use your keycard a lot. Rooms at the middle floors only has one narrow window and feels kind of claustrophobic. Also, windows cant be opened at any floor so that’s extra claustrophobic. Breakfast tickets where included for every day, but they are confusing both for guests and staff. I usually book all my resorts through Agoda and sometimes I can book Cosi with, and sometimes without breakfast. I don’t know why it’s like that but I prefer without breakfast as there are so many nice places to eat in the area. Some days the party noise in the area is high so bring some earplugs if you have to go sleep early. Also, this hotel is literary in the garage af the mall so a lot of traffic noice, taxis etc. This might vary depending on what room you stay in. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday on the beach this is probably not the best hotel for you, but the beaches of Samui is not far away.
