Deluxe Room with pool view and walk-around at Cocohut Beach Resort & Spa (or Cocohut Village), Koh Phangan, Thailand. Nice resort at Leela Beach (also called Haad Leela, Haad Seekantang, Seekantangtang Beach, Sikantang Beach or Coco Beach…phew haha), and just a stones-throw away from Haad Rin Nok Beach where the Full Moon Party takes place.

What’s good?

Whether you are attending the Full Moon party or not, this a top choice for resorts in Haad Rin. The beach is calm with nice sand and a pretty view facing Koh Samui. High tide was in the morning so water level was lower, and the beach wider in the afternoon. The Deluxe Room was clean and in good working condition. Surprisingly good, as I was kind of expecting a thrashed party room. Descent pool view along with a little greenish mountain from the balcony. Staff were happy and welcoming. Pretty small pool but overall the pool area felt pretty fresh and there was a bubbling tub as well. There were bikes for rent right outside. Sorta basic breakfast but as long as there are fruit, juice, eggs and bread I’m fine with it. Restaurant had some interesting choices, I went for a chicken wrap type dish which was good. I would recommend this resort for most types of travelers. As you see in this video shot between the Full Moon parties the resort, as well as the rest of Haad Rin, was very calm, laid back, chill and relaxing. Haad Rin is just a short walk away over the hill and has restaurants and basic shopping, 7-eleven, cheap laundry etc.

What’s not so good?

Families and non-party people should probably stay away from the whole Haad Rin area during the Full Moon parties, not just because the drunk crowds but also for the sick prices for accommodation. TV-channels was dull and that small type of safety box should’ve be banned in Thailand by now.
